For decades Australia has fought over the future of Tasmania's native forests. Now we're within a hair's breadth of protecting them forever.

On Friday the Tasmanian government backed an historic agreement between environmentalists, unions and industry which would protect forests, protect jobs and protect the climate. All the other pieces are in place - all that's needed now is federal Government funding to complete the puzzle.
