Letter 3
Dear Dr Nelson
I write to you today to express my deep concerns about the US/Australian "Military Games".
Of course, I understand that our Aussie troops need to undergo adequate and thorough training to equip them with the skills needed to defend our country against any form of aggressive invasion. Of course, our troops need training before being placed in harms way.
However, I do not agree that my taxes and the taxes of other Australians should be "splashed about" to further advance the US's military build up in the Pacific.
I DO NOT welcome a US Military presence on our shores, particularly when that presence has the capability of making Australia a nuclear target by nations which possess nuclear weapons capabilities.
I have heard that the US will be bringing their military craft (air and water) with nuclear weapons firing capabilities?
Is this true?
If so, it is obvious to me that such craft would not travel the world "unarmed". No nation would risk launcing billions of dollars worth of machinery (capable of launching nuclear weapons) in an unarmed state.
With this realisation, all military bases used for the purpose of "hosting" such machines become nuclear weapons launching sites, and hence, nuclear weapons targets.
My family, friends and neighbours do not want a nuclear missile launching site (or target) on our shores. We live here in peace.
I hope you can empathise with our very serious concerns!
We do not need (or want) this sort of danger thrust upon us by another nation against our will, particularly when our taxes will be footing the bill for the clean up of our damaged coastline.
We do not need a nuclear weapons launching system within Australia's waters.
It is way past time that our taxes be used to BENEFIT all Australian citzens, rather than being used to support the advancement of the US military's aggressive ways. Angering our nuclear weapons capable neighbours is simply foolish!
I look forward to receiving answers to my questions.
Your sincerely

Letter 1:
Dear Elected Representative,
Recently, I became very alarmed when I learned about "Operation Talisman".
Such military operations are not welcomed by my family and I.
We hope that you will stand with my family and I and represent how we feel about this matter. We are totally and completely opposed to Operation Talisman. We are totally and completely opposed to the grand scale foolishness and the waste of our precious resources. These miliary exercises are being conducted by dangerous and pathetic "big boys" who are playing with incredibly deadly toys.
It is time that our elected representatives stood firm for their people and gave these big "children" who would choose to wantonly destroy a strong and firm ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..!
It is time to close the door on this type of insanity.
This destruction will NOT occur in My Name.
Yours sincerely
