"Blunder"

Humans have extracted carbon that was stored by natural forces over eons to build up industrialized civilization. This use of the fossil fuels has facilitated the feeding of a rapidly growing population. It has enabled the manufacture of the items to meet many needs and to sate many wants of this large population. It has assisted in the rampant construction of the cities and their infrastructure. But it has irrevocably, although unintentionally, caused climate change.
